Accounting Information Systems: The Processes and Controls 2nd Edition
This new edition continues to organize key AIS course content (e.g. ERP and relational databases, REA, controls) around four major themes: simplicity of writing and presentation (lower level), business processes, accounting and IT controls, and ethics as it relates to accounting systems. This text offers real-world focus that impacts the chapter exposition, discussion questions, and end-of-chapter exercises and cases. It includes an emphasis on readability that extends beyond the narrative to the flowcharts and illustrations.
I like the book. It's well-written and covers the important, relevant topics well. Definitely has an emphasis on the terminology, but that's what I was looking for. My Wiley book rep is good, but there is only so much he can do. If you are thinking of adopting this textbook, be aware that the test bank only contains multiple choice and true-false questions. No short answer, no find the internal control weaknesses, no flowcharts to analyze, just M.C. and T.F. Also, the test bank IS NOT Blackboard compatible. You will have to copy from Word to a text editor, remove all tabs, and put an asterisk by the correct answer for every question in every chapter. Ridiculous that Wiley won't do that ONE TIME for all of us. And lastly, the student companion website is lousy. There's nothing there but chapter PowerPoints. No review questions or practice quizzes, nothing. It's a shame the authors put so much effort into a textbook that is not supported by the publisher.
Purchased it for such a low price and it's practically new! I really liked the book and its totally understandable to read.
